Colt McCoy Bio

Daniel Colt McCoy was born September 5th, 1986 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He is the son of Jim Ned High School football coach Brad McCoy. During his years at Jim Ned High School he was a three-year letterman from the quarterbacks position helping lead the mighty Indians to a 34-2 record during those 3 years. Colt finished his high school career as the all-time leading passer for the State of Texas in Division 2A, and is currently 4th overall in Texas high school football history. Twice he was named the AP 2A Offensive MVP and first-team all-state selection, as well as Texas Sports Writers Association first-team all-state twice. During that time he completed 536 or 849 passes for a 63.1% completion rating and a total of 9,344 yards and 116 touchdown passes; the 116 TDs ranks him second in Texas prep history.
